The Pokemon Trading Card Game is a collectible card game based on the popular video game series, Pokemon. In the game, players use decks of cards featuring different Pokemon, trainers, and energy cards to battle against each other. The goal is to defeat all of the opponent’s Pokemon to win the game.
1. Each player starts with a deck of 60 cards, including at least one basic Pokemon card.
2. Players take turns drawing cards, attaching energy cards to their Pokemon, and using trainer cards to gain advantages.
3. When a Pokemon’s HP (hit points) is reduced to zero, it is knocked out and the opponent gains a prize card.
4. The game ends when one player has no more cards in their deck, or has taken all six prize cards.
There have been multiple series of Pokemon cards released since the game’s debut in 1996. The most recent series is Sword and Shield, featuring new Pokemon and mechanics.
The conditions to win the game are fairly simple: knock out all of the opponent’s Pokemon, or draw all six prize cards.
1. Basic Pokemon – the foundation of a player’s deck.
2. Stage 1 Pokemon – evolved versions of basic Pokemon.
3. Stage 2 Pokemon – further evolved versions of stage 1 Pokemon.
4. GX Pokemon – powerful cards with strong attacks and abilities.
5. EX Pokemon – similar to GX cards but with higher HP.
6. Trainer Cards – provide support and advantages to the player’s Pokemon.
7. Energy Cards – used to power the player’s Pokemon’s attacks.
1. HP – hit points, the amount of damage a Pokemon can withstand.
2. Attack – the type and strength of moves a Pokemon can make.
3. Weakness – the type of Pokemon that can deal extra damage to this card.
4. Resistance – the type of Pokemon that can resist this card’s attack.
1. Theme Decks – pre-built decks featuring a specific Pokemon or type.
2. Starter Decks – basic decks for new players to learn how to play.
3. Custom Decks – decks built by the player according to their preferences.
